Panama City, FL 5/20/08- Even though it has been over a month since the last Five Flags Speedway Blizzard super late model series race, Ryan Crane has not forgotten about his last trip to the track. Crane was leading the race when Nascar Nationwide driver Joey Logano, driving a car owned by Stanley Smith, sent him spinning which delegated the Ryan Crane Racing team to a disappointing twenty-fourth place finish, all but eliminating them of their championship hopes due to the ultra competitive car counts in the short a five race series.

“We had a rather rough start to the Blizzard series but what can you do other than look towards the next race. We are just going to focus on winning races from now on. Being twenty-fourth in points after the first race is a tough hole to dig out of so it is not really about winning the championship anymore it’s more about winning races. With the cost of everything going up we have to cut back on races just like everyone else and without a sponsor it makes it even tougher. That’s why every time out I plan to make the most of things,” said Crane, the 2007 Snowflake 100 pro late model winner.

While it may have been an extended period of time since the last race it has only been a week since Crane logged laps around the half mile oval with his #10 Honda of Panama/Quality Inn & Microtel Inn-Lavelle Way Ford Fusion as he and his Panama City, Florida based team tested in preparation for the event. The test was more about revisiting an old setup than trying to find or create a new one.

“We went to Pensacola and tested a setup package we had in the past that worked really well for us. It wasn’t that some of the new things we had tried didn’t work, it just fell under that old saying “if it isn’t broke don’t try to fix it.” I am pretty sure we should have a pretty sporty piece right out of the trailer come Friday and anytime you can do that it makes you anxious to go back,” stated Crane.

Once again the Ryan Crane Racing team will have local sponsors Quality Inn & Microtel Inn-Lavelle Way in Pensacola on board the #10 Ford Fusion as an associate sponsor. Through this partnership, both teams and race fans alike are able to get a special discounted rate on rooms on Blizzard series race weeks throughout the 2008 race season just by mentioning “Ryan Crane Racing” or contacting B.A. Reitz at 850-944-0333.
