Panama City, FL 6/12/08- The third round of the Five Flags Speedway super late model Blizzard mini-series is up next for the Panama City, Florida based Ryan Crane Racing team. After being wrecked out while leading race one by Nascar Nationwide driver Joey Logano, Crane bounced back by leading a portion of the 100 lap race before settling in to post a solid fifth place finish. Now with a few changes made, both driver and team feel that round three will be the best chance so far to bring the hardware back to the Emerald Coast.

“At the last race their we didn’t really have our best package underneath me so I knew it would be tough to compete for the win. With the track surface as abrasive as it is at Pensacola you really have to think about everything you do when it come to handling because you want to make your tires last as long as possible. That’s the key at that place and it always has been. I really feel that when we show up this time it may be our best shot of winning so far. We should have a car that is exactly how we want it and my crew guys have had good pit stops all year in the pits, plus we have a great local sponsor in Quality Inn and Microtel on Lavelle Way there in Pensacola, so we should be in pretty good shape,” said Crane, the 2007 Snowflake 100 winner.

While the Five Flags Speedway may be the home track that Ryan has grown to love it’s his consistent finish at another track that has propelled him to compete for the track’s mini-series championship much like that in Pensacola. At the half-mile Mobile International Speedway, Crane sits fourth in points after two rounds of competition where he has compiled finishes of fifth and fourteenth in their Miller Lite super late mini-series.

While it’s a track that may not get the car count or the publicity that Pensacola offers, it’s still a championship that Crane would like to add to his already impressive résumé.

“For some reason or another Mobile just doesn’t get the publicity like some of these other tracks do. It is a tough place to race and even tougher to win at. I know last year Casey Smith pretty much dominated there but this year he has ran into some problems which has left the door wide open for someone to take the title for themselves. We haven’t exactly ran great there but we have ran good enough to have a shot at the championship. To be honest with you, we as a team hadn’t planned on running for the championship there until I looked at the points and said we have a shot at winning this thing,” stated Crane.
